WSOP organization improves several features for the 2008 edition
- 3-31-2008
The World Series of Poker 2008 will kick off next May 30th and Harrah's is already improving some tournament features. Fans and players will gather around the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas until July 17th all ready to enjoy and take part in the largest and most important poker tournament of all times. The 2007 edition of the tournament experimented with some innovations, but some of them turned to be not so appropriate for a tournament of this magnitude, including the not so hype "Poker Tentâ€Â, which is going to be replaced by a more suitable room at the Harrah’s Convention Center. That gives the organizers the chance to re think the tournament and services distribution; this year the area used by the poker tent will hold the kitchen and the rooms previously reserved for the kitchen will accommodate several satellite tournaments.
There will be more registration and payout kiosk available this year and they will also be open 24/7 for the time the tournament runs. Certain rules have also been introduced and some others have been removed.  For example, the controversial "Show one, show both" rule will not be used this time. There’s also a new rule about “Excessive celebration through extended theatrics, inappropriate behavior, or physical actions, gestures, or conduct†in which theatrical or overreacted celebrations in words or actions will be considered “faults†that can end up with the player’s disqualification.
