WSOP announces 2009 Calendar

The 2009 WSOP will come to an end with the $10,000 buy-in World Championship No-Limit Hold'em Main Event which is set to start on Friday, July 3rd and to reach the Final Nine Table on July 15th, 2009. Once again the final table take a four month recess to come back with the already famous "November Nine" culmination, set to take place at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino from November 7th to 10th. The final table will be played in front of a live audience and will be covered by ESPN for a same day broadcast.
The 2009 World Series of Poker will feature a total of 57 gold bracelet events played over 50 days. The schedule will include a "stimulus special" $1,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em tournament on May 30th and 31st, 2009, which is expected to draw the largest-ever live tournament field beside the Main Event and offer a $5,000,000 prize pool. The schedule also includes 10 "World Championship" $10,000 buy-in events in several poker disciplines, seven $1500 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournaments, the 3rd annual Ante Up For Africa $5,000 buy-in No-Limit Hold'em celebrity and charity tournament on Thursday, July 2, 2009, a Ladies Only No-Limit Hold'em World Championship on June 7th, 2009, a Seniors Only No-Limit Hold'em World Championship on June 22nd, 2009 specially organized for all poker enthusiasts over 50 years of age and the third annual $50,000 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. tournament on June 26th.

Pre-registration for the 2009 WSOP will start in February at the Main Cage of the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas and online through the WSOP official site. Players can also get a seat through a series of qualification events and satellites beginning from May 26th and running until July 5, 2009.
