World Series of Poker circuit tournament kicks off at Horseshoe Casino Hammond

A new World Series of Poker circuit tournament has started at the Horseshoe Casino Hammond in Indiana and will continue for a total of 10 days until November 2nd. The circuit tournament will feature a total of 13 events running for 10 days with the main event scheduled to take place from October 31st to November 2nd, in addition, the tournament organizers said that about 7,500 are expected to take part in the tournament series.

"We're expecting heavy registration, over 1,000 only for the main event" said poker room manager Jason Newman.

Buy-ins range from $345 for the opening two-day No-Limit Hold'em tournament to $5,000 for the three-day main event that starting on October 31st. In addition to large cash prize pools, players will have the opportunity to compete for custom-designed WSOP championship rings. Players can qualify to the programmed events though a series of $120 "turbo tournaments" running every day at 9:00 p.m. The tournament also programmed a one-day $235 buy-in Ladies event scheduled on Sunday, October 26th at 3:00 pm.

In addition to the lucrative cash prize, the Main Event winner will get a $10,000 seat to the World Series of Poker main event at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas in summer 2009.

Registration for all of the events opens at 9 a.m. at the Horseshoe Casino and will be ongoing throughout the tournament.
