World Poker Congress announces dates and events for forth annual meeting
- 4-21-2009
Officials of the World Poker Congress, the biggest and most important conference in the live and online poker businesses, have released the schedule and events planned for the forth WPC event held at the Sheraton Porto Hotel and Spa in Porto, Portugal, from June 24th to 25th. Topics for live poker will include tournament rules and standards, technology advances and innovation for televised tournaments, tournament organization and more. There will be three main topics for online poker, which are dealing with paying your winners, player trust and rakeback. The World Poker Congress will also feature a special poker tournament for registered delegates, abundant networking opportunities and an exhibition area that will display the latest products and services in the market.
"The World Poker Congress is simply not like other conferences. In attendance are the decision makers from the most exciting companies in the poker arena - and they are there to do business," said the World Poker Tour founder and CEO, Steve Lipscomb, who has participated in the event since its creation in 2005.
The list of confirmed speakers for this year includes David Carrion of Cirsa, Bram Cops with Split Aces and Paul Davis of Chexx IOM. The conference will culminate with a closing conference featuring Steve Lipscomb and PartyGaming CEO Jim Ryan. Several company executives, tournament directors, poker room managers and operators from both the live and online poker are also expected to take part in the forth annual World Poker Congress.
"The World Poker Congress has been extremely valuable to ChiliPoker in terms of building business contacts and solidifying partnerships in both the online and the live poker worlds, which is why we renewed the lead sponsorship of the event for the third consecutive year," said Alexandre Dreyfus, ChiliPoker CEO.
