Women in Poker Hall of Fame announces 2009 Hall of Fame inductees

Women in Poker Hall of Fame, which not long ago opened the voting process for the 2009 WiPHoF induction event, has released a statement informing that Card Player Magazine founder and WSOP bracelet winner, June Field, Tournament Directors Association co founder Jan Fisher, and Full Tilt Sponsored pro and WSOP bracelet winner, Cyndy Violette has been selected as 2009 Women in Poker Hall of Fame inductees.
All inductees were selected due their individual achievements on major poker tournaments and for their significant contributions to the poker industry. The three players will join members of the WiPHoF Linda Johnson, Marsha Waggoner, Susie Isaacs, and Barbara Enright in a special event scheduled to take place on Friday, June 5th at the Golden Nugget Hotel in Casino in Las Vegas.
Besides the induction ceremony scheduled on June 5th, the Women in Poker Hall of Fame has prepared a series of special events, including a $230 buy-in tournament to raise funds for Poker Gives, a charity organization created by Linda Johnson, Jan Fisher, Mike Sexton, and Lisa Tenner. The tournament will take place on Thursday, June 4th at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino. On Saturday, June 6th, the Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS) will hold a series of $175 satellites events awarding entries for the Golden Nugget Grand Series event and LIPS Championship scheduled on August, 2009.
The all female weekend will come to an end on Sunday, June 7th with the annual $1,000 buy-in WSOP Ladies Only event held at the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino as part of the 2009 World Series of Poker tournament schedule. For more information, please visit Womenspokerhalloffame.com.
