Why Freerolls actually are not that hard to win
- 3-5-2008
So we have
all at one time or another, played in an online poker freeroll.
There are so many people and you may ask yourself how are you ever going to ran
finish in the money? Well, think again; ask yourself, why are these people
playing in a freeroll? Well they clearly are not good poker players, as harsh
as it sounds, but it is true, most of them never get to survive the first
rounds, so you start thinking why do they join the freerolls then? The answer
is simple, most of them play because they do not have any money else to play
with, probably because they lost it all, which is a demonstration of their lack
of experience, ability or patience to play in an online poker site.
So since we have defined that a considerable percentage of the players that
take part in poker
freerolls are not made to be pros, you should learn how to take advantage
of the fishes, which often is the majority of the people at the table. Only
thing is to watch out for the donks, all tournaments have them, and there are a
lot playing the freerolls. These tournaments should be easy money for anyone
with a little experience at the poker tables, a player who knows about strategy
and bluffing will easily take the fishes’ chips.
And how do
you recognize a fish? Well, you can start by watching for comments in the chat
to reveal if that person is a loose player, on tilt etc, often common mistakes a
newbie will make. Also watch out for betting patterns and people showing their
big bluffs. This is a good mark for them, and should be easy to take their
chips.
I write from experience, not to come off as cocky but to show how easy
freerolls can be. In the Full Tilt Poker freeroll
out of 2700 people, I came 1st and I wasn't even playing my best. Freerolls
can be easy if you know how to play them, having time is essential and patience
is a must, also don't let the big amount of participants scare you off, most of
them will give up or lose all their poker chips
in a blink of an eye, so play your regular game and you will be more than fine.

Nice post i must say! it contains the true story behind the Freerolls.
