Viva Las Vegas Festival kicks off at the Orleans Hotel and Casino

The Viva Las Vegas 12, also known as the Rockabilly weekend, is back in Sin City for another high dose of vintage extravaganza, classic car shows, parties, and tons of Rock and Roll concerts and featuring more than 60 bands and DJ’s.
Viva Las Vegas festival kicks off today and runs until Sunday, April12th, to the Orleans Hotel and Casino after more than a decade at the Gold Coast Hotel. The four-day music festival will also include a series of side shows and events, including a burlesque competition, a pre-1963 car show, jive lessons and contests, a Tiki pool party and special vintage paraphernalia sale.
The Viva Las Vegas Car Show is considered by many as the best car exhibit of it's class in the United States, bringing the best Pre 63 hot rods, stock classics, and nostalgic race cars from every corner of the country . Last year, the Viva Las Vegas event registered more than 500 vehicles in a show that attracted over 18,000 visitors and locals. Car show, which will be held at The Orleans Hotel, will kick off today at 4:00 pm and will open every day from 8:00 am to Midnight.
The VLV Burlesque Competition sponsored by Daddyos.com Shimmy Magazine and La Burlesque, will take place on Saturday April 11th in The Showroom at The Orleans Hotel. The show will feature the top six contestants from an online competition held between October and December, 2009 on Viva Las Vegas website. Prizes include Cash, gift vouchers, merchandise from V-male, subscriptions to Shimmy magazine and a front page photo shoot for Shimmy Magazine.
Other highlights include daily shows at the Orleans Ballroom featuring Johnny Powers, Royal Crown Revue, Dale Hawkins, James Intveld, Don Woody, Charlie Gracie, The Go Getters, Al Ferrier, Jack Rabbit Slim, Lew Williams, Otis Williams, Kim Lenz And Her Jaguars, Harvey Fuqua, The Lucky Stars, Alton & Jimmy, Dave And Deke Combo, The Domestic Bumblebees, Big Boy Bloater, Haystack Hi-Tones and many more. The Rockabilly weekend will close on Sunday April 12th with the classic Tiki Party held at the Orleans pool.
