Ultimate Bet's New Problem

Around a year ago there were accusations of a superuser account at the online poker room Absolute Poker. If you do not remember exactly what this scandal was, basically the winner of a big online tournament knew what other people’s hole cards were. The Kahnawake Gaming Commission performed an investigation and fined AbsolutePoker.com $500,000 dollars and put them on probation. A few months ago, on the poker room Ultimate Bet a user named NioNio was accused of being a superuser account based on his high win percentage. That investigation is currently underway and hopefully the results will be made public soon. Eveybody knows that Ultimate Bet has a partnership with AbsolutePoker; however, UltimateBet.com has been trying to escape the shadow cast by Absolute Poker. The NioNio account situation has not helped, and now, Ultimate Bet may have a new scandal on their hands.

A few online poker rooms have a promotion called the Bad Beat Jackpot. The idea behind this is that money is pooled and whoever gets the worst bad beat wins the money, the odds of this happening even once is very low. A user at UltimateBet however has now won it twice in the span of two weeks. The total amount of winnings from the bad beat jackpot alone is close to $620,000.

On a number of different poker websites speculation is starting to run rampant that this is another type of superuser scandal and that Ultimate Bet might be trying to cover it up. If it is the case that Ultimate Bet has another scandal on its hands it will find traffic dip even lower and will be hard pressed to find online players who are willing to trust the poker room and its integrity.
