UFC announces first "UFC Fan Expo"

The Ultimate Fighting Championship has recently announced the debut of the first "UFC Fan Expo", a two day exposition scheduled to take place on July 10th and 11th, at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort and Casino. The first UFC Expo†will feature sessions with UFC and WEC fighters, demonstrations, special events, training and development sessions, and other activities. The UFC Fan Expo will coincide with the UFC 100, which is expected to be one of the biggest mixed martial arts events programmed for this year. The fighting chart will include two title matches in both the heavyweight and welterweight divisions, including a bout between the #1 170 pound contender Jon Fitch and Brazilian Paulo Thiago, as well as a match between the two "Ultimate Fighter 9" team coaches. Fitch returns in July after a successful turn in his last fight, a win over Japanese fighter Akihiro Gono in January. The American Kickboxing Academy fighter currently sits at 9-1 in his UFC career with his lone loss coming by way of welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre in August 2008.

The initiative of organizing the UFC Fan Expo began last year when the UFC requested its fans to send their ideas and feedback in December. The UFC teamed up with Reed Exhibitions for the expo, the organization expects to attract more than 100 companies and brands for the event first, including apparel, electronic, gaming, sports equipment nutritional supplements and several companies related to the Mixed Martial Arts league.
