The legendary Columbia Records star Tony Bennett (born Anthony Dominick Benedetto on August 3^rd, 1926) makes his way back to Las Vegas with his show at the Las Vegas Hilton Theater on September 20^th, 2008. Bennett who is described as a singer of popular music, standards and jazz, turns 82 years old this year. Along the way Bennett has had many accolades, honors and tributes bestowed upon him throughout the years. Described as the "World's most down to earth living legend", Bennett enjoys every day of his 80 some years on this earth as one of the most famous and acclaimed entertainers of his generation. Bennett counts with more than 100 records and have sold over 50 million albums since the beginning of his career in the 50’s. Songs like "I Left My Heart In San Francisco", "I Wanna Be Around" and "Who Can I Turn To (When Nobody Needs Me)" have received high praise from music critics and entertainers. He is an international treasure who was honored by the United Nations.

In 2005 Bennett became a Kennedy Center Honoree and was named an NEA Jazz Master one year after. Most recently he received the Billboard Magazine's Century Award, in honor of his exceptional contribution to popular music In an article from the New York Times writer Stephen Holden wrote "Mr. Bennett has steadfastly remained the embodiment of heart in popular music. He pours it into every note he sings and every phrase he swings with a sophistication that deepens his unguarded emotional directness. In the polluted sea of irony, bad faith and grotesque attitudinizing that pop music has become, he is a rock of integrity."

In his latest album “Duets - An American Classic” Bennett has teamed up with a series of famous artists including Bono, Michael Bublé, Elvis Costello, Celine Dion, Dixie Chicks, Billy Joel, Elton John, Juanes, Diana Krall, K.D Lang, John Legend, Paul McCartney, Tim McGraw, George Michael, Sting, Barbra Streisand, James Taylor and Stevie Wonder among others.

Some of Bennett's favorite songs are "Rags to Riches," which was #1 on the charts for eight weeks in 1953 along with "The Good Life", "Put On a Happy Face" and "Smile". When asked about all his accomplishments he has received Bennett responded by saying "Everything's great and the amount of recognition I've gotten is almost like a payoff for all the years of traveling on the road."
