Bette Midler's 90 minute extravaganza offers more than the usual musical numbers and glittery dancers seen in most variety shows, instead, “The Showgirl Must Go On†brings the audience an splendid Broadway style theater show featuring an captivating repertoire of Midler’s greatest hits including "The Showgirl Must Go On", "In the Mood", "The Rose", "Do You Wanna Dance", "From a Distance", "My Kind of Town", "It's Now Or Never", "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" and "Wind Beneath My Wings", as well as some of Midler's favorite characters like Delores Delago -- the wheelchair-bound mermaid -- and Soph, the oldest living showgirl in Las Vegas.
