The July 4th holiday weekend means a busy weekend for the Las Vegas Hotels

The July 4th holiday weekend is going to be one of the hottest holidays for the Las Vegas hotels and casinos. The fourth falling on a Friday made a three day weekend, throw in deep discounts, coupons and deals are being released by most of the Las Vegas Strip casinos and it means thousands of people looking for a place to party and a place to stay after that. From The Flamingo Las Vegas, passing to the Treasure Island to the Caesars Palace, Las Vegas is a paradise for bargain hunters looking for an affordable room during the Independence Day weekend.

"We paid $400 dollars for four days and three nights. We went through Southwest also. It was a combined deal," said Paige German, visitor from California.

Rising gas prices is a huge concern for drivers thinking to visit Las Vegas, and it is not surprise that some hotels and businesses are even offering gas cards for staying on the Las Vegas Strip. Also, the costs of airline tickets have been eased by reducing the Las Vegas hotels rates in about 7% this year. But the Las Vegas authorities are reporting that fewer tourists are coming this year compared with the same period on last year, also, a new study has revealed that visitors coming are spending less and that they are more careful with their expenses. But even when the nation is struggling against an economic deceleration, the number of visitors visiting Las Vegas is better than expected considering the disheartened national economy.

Las Vegas has also seen the effect of the economic crisis, some of the major casinos were pushed to reduce their labor force to keep the prices down and to maintain the local economic engine oiled up and running, however, the Las Vegas casinos are surprisingly well adapted to the shifting U.S and world economy, and as long as they keep getting visitors, all the casinos will still employ hundreds of thousands of people.

Thanks to the income generated by the casinos, the hotels can keep their rates at a lower level and bring more people; tourism is the most important element in the city’s economy and with over 40 million visitors coming to Las Vegas every year, the future of the people working for or in industry depends on the ability to adapt the business to the people’s necessities and budgets.

I tried to plan a trip to Las Vegas a week before the 4th but it fell through. I saw some good deals around but unfortunately couldn't get it all together. It definitely would've been an affordable weekend trip. Guess I'll have to stay on my toes for the next long weekend.
