Team England scores its second victory at the PartyPoker.com Poker Nations Cup.

Team England has achieved its second victory at the 2008 PartyPoker Poker Nations Cup after defeating team Ireland in the heads-up final table guided by the team captain Roland de Wolfe. The PartyPoker.com Poker Nations Cup also included teams from Germany, The Netherlands, U.S and Sweden. Team England brought the cup home thanks to Neil Channing’s brilliant performance against Ireland's Donnacha O'Dea in the heads-up battle. England team also featured Surinder Sunar, Joe Beevers, Ian Frazer and the Party Poker online qualifier Charlie Durbin.

"I am as proud of this as I am of my win in Ireland. It was an honor to be picked to represent my country and great to be chosen to play the crucial final leg for the team” Channing said.

Britain team qualified for the final table after six heats, sharing the second place in the chip leader board with the Netherlands and right behind the German team. None of the “favorite teams” including the U.S and the defending champions Sweden achieved a good performance at the international poker competition, team U.S was the first to be sent to the rail, followed by Sweden and then Germany. Team Netherlands got busted when team captain Marcel Luske put his 10 -9 vs. O'Dea's A-K.However, it was going to be Ireland vs. England and with Channing's great performance was the key for the British team to score its second victory at the Poker Nations Cup as they did it in 2006.

"I'm absolutely delighted. In many ways it is even better to win a team event for your country than win an individual title. I am so proud that the selections of my team were vindicated." said British captain Roland de Wolfe.
