Sun Poker moves to iPoker Network
- 11-19-2008
In a statement released yesterday via e mail to all its clients and affiliates, the Peak Group Malta, Sun Poker ‘s parent company, announced that the online poker site, along with Omni Casino and CSCasino.com, will be moving to Playtech’s iPoker Network starting on December, 2008.
According to the statement released yesterday afternoon, Playtech’s software potential will be a selling point for customers. “As you may know, the Playtech software is one of the most popular in the world due to its award winning game offerings, multiple currency and multiple language features, and unparalleled innovation in the online gaming world.†stated Peak Group Malta on its press release.
Due this decision to migrate to Playtech, Sun Poker players will have new accounts on the iPoker Network and will need to download the new software to play. Customers will then be able to transfer their account’s balance over the new network, which can be made “directly within their account on Cryptologic.†The list of online poker rooms affiliated to the iPoker Network include Kiwi Poker, Titan Poker, CD Poker, Betfred Poker, Expekt Poker, Noble Poker, Chili Poker, Poker Ocean, and VC Poker.
My Poker Points, or MPPs, will not be transferable to the iPoker Network, as an alternative, Sun Poker will host a special promotion based on the number MPP’s that players have accumulated on the Cryptologic network. But possibly the most notable change for SunPoker players is that the iPoker Network does not allow rakeback. SunPoker.com is expected to introduce a loyalty program to substitute its old rakeback program; unfortunately, no information has been released regarding this project.
Players will have the option to stay on the CryptoLogic Network until January 31st; however, regardless of what they do and choose, they all are going to be officially on the iPoker network once they access their accounts on February 1st, 2009.
