Steve Wynn talks about his show and entertainment business

Steve Wynn made some revealing declarations to the press media last weekend when he explained his point of view regarding the shows and clubs at Wynn Las Vegas. The show “Le Reve†is in the middle of a $30 million transformation, including some cosmetic improvements made to the theater as well as renewed choreography and costumes. The new costume selection will be ready once the show gets back on the stage at the end of March.  According to Steve Wynn, no other significant changes were made during the show’s break.
“We can’t shut the show down; it’s doing its usual 12,000 people per week.†Wynn said.
As for “Spamalot,†Wynn said the show “makes a few bucks†and brings from 800 to 900 people every night in a theater that has capacity to accommodate almost 1,500 viewers.

Wynn also said the press that he was not impressed by the Palazzo, expressing that the new offspring of the Las Vegas Hotel industry owned by rival Sheldon Adelson doesn’t have either the feel or the complexity of a real luxury resort.
“It feels like you’re entering a shopping plaza, a retail experience rather than a resort. Have you ever heard of a hotel that feels like a retail plaza?†Wynn said.
