Shelby Automobiles returns to sponsor NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

Las Vegas Motor Speedway has announced that Carroll Shelby's  Automobiles will return as sponsor of the NASCAR Sprint Cup event scheduled on February 28th at LVMS.

Founded by race car legend Carroll Shelby, Shelby Automobiles Inc teamed up with Las Vegas Motor Speedway in March for the Shelby 427, which featured a 427-mile, 285-lap race. Next year's event will be called the Shelby American and will honor the 45th anniversary of two of the most representative Muscle Cars ever built: Shelby's  G.T. 350 and the legendary 427 Cobra. The race will  also return to its traditional 400-mile, 267-lap distance.

“We are ecstatic to have the legendary Shelby name on our NASCAR Sprint Cup race for a second consecutive year. This year’s event was a tremendous success, and we’re looking forward to giving more exposure to the Shelby brand that has, over the years, become synonymous with the best in high-performance cars.” commented LVMS President Chris Powell.

The 2010 NASCAR Weekend will kick off with qualifying for the Shelby American NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Friday, Feb. 26. The Sam's Town 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race is set for Saturday, Feb. 27.  Tickets for NASCAR Shelby American at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, can be purchased at WDIAV Tickets section.
