Russ Hamilton blamed Ultimate Bet cheating scandal

The Kahnawake Gaming Commission has released the preliminary conclusions of an investigation performed by Catania Gaming Consultants and was leaded by Frank Catania, an experienced investigator and former New Jersey State Gaming Regulator. The goal of this investigation was to determine the responsible for hundreds of claims and cheating allegations affecting UltimateBet.com. The cheating allegations at Ultimate Bet became public in early 2008, and wasn't until May that UltimateBet's owners, Tokwiro finally admitted that former employees violated the site’s security and accounts to cheat in high-stakes games.

According to the statement released on Monady night, the Commission has imposed deadlines for Ultimate Bet customers to be reimbursed and forced the site to pay a $1.5 million fine for its actions. Ultimate Bet has until November 3rd, 2008 to compensate an estimated $6.1 million to players' affected by the cheating activities. Ultimate Bet must get rid of any and all individuals considered as "unsuitable" by the KGC including all levels of owners, managers and operative employees. In Addition, Ultimate Bet will have to pay a $1.5 million to the KGC for its failure to execute and implement security measures and for its slow response to fraudulent activities. The statement concludes saying that “Ultimate Bet's failure to comply fully with the measures will result in the immediate revocation of its KGC gaming permit."

The KGC is also pointing former World Series of Poker Main Event champion Russ Hamilton as the person behind the cheating scandal in the same statement posted on its Web site. In the statement, the KCG says that its investigation found clear and convincing evidence that incriminates Hamilton as the main "responsible for and benefiting from the multiple cheating incidents" between May 2004 and January 2008. The KGC also stated that it is already in contact with the law enforcement agencies and intends to cooperate in the prosecution of “all individuals involved in the Ultimate Bet cheating incidents."
