To play online or not to play online…To play high stakes or to not play high stakes... That is the question.
When choosing your stakes and limits, you seriously have to consider your current position and evaluate your game from the inside to out.Usually when you play online poker, you have the luxurious option to play high or micro stake games. This might not be the case in some casinos, however if you have both options, which one is the right for you? I weight in on this one:
Small Stakes a.k.a. the kiddy game
Online: referred to as micro.
Pros
- Small Stakes, Big Fun!
- You can play small stakes, have a drink, and not lose much
- Play loose, and change/ switch things up.
- test the weaknesses of your game; not losing to much.
Cons
- less talented players are present
- Looser calls will be made against you
- Its very difficult to build a bankroll
High Stakes
Pros
-You play higher level of competition
- Skill > Luck
- Easier to build a bankroll
- Winning is that much sweeter
Cons
-When you lose, you lose big
- Suck outs hurt more.
Whether you are a micro kiddy cat, or high stakes roller, poker is poker; play the stakes your contempt with and what your bankroll will allow you to play with. I would advise using similar BR (Bankroll) management skills that Chris Ferguson uses; that’s how he turned 0 into $10 thousand.
