Pokerstars.com announces first Americas Cup of Poker team event

Leading online poker site Pokerstars.com is gearing up for the first Poker Stars Americas Cup of Poker, a new tournament series that will give regular players the chance to represent their homelands and compete for a $250,000.00 prizepool.

The action
starts on July 27th with the first weekly round. Players from the
following countries have the chance to compete and help their nation make it to
the live final:

The list of countries taking part in the tournament is divided into groups and each will face-off against each other week by week. During each weekly round, players can take part in any or all of the daily freerolls, $0.20 or $5.50 tournaments. Players will have to score as many points as they can for their respective teams. Each country will play against the other teams in their group in a series of weekly rounds. Each round will last for one week, and once all the group matches are complete, the two countries with the most wins in each group will go on to the live final set to take place at a ski resort in Bariloche, Argentina.
