PokerStars NAPT Mohegan Sun adds bounty event
- 3-19-2010
The PokerStars.net North American Poker Tour has added a $25,600 two-day High Roller Bounty Shootout event as part of its inaugural NAPT Mohegan Sun tournament set to run from March 27th through April 13th, 2010 in Uncasville, Connecticut.
The High Roller tournament combines both bounty and shootout formats. The first round will be held on April 12th, and will feature nine tables of nine players, with the first place finisher from each table competing in the winner-takes-all final on April 13th. All the finalists will get $50,000. The winner of this event will take home the remaining prize pool less all the bounties. Players will get a $5,000 bounty for every opponent they knock out, additionally, PokerStars.net will add a seat into the next High Roller Bounty Shootout for the player who collects the most bounties.
"I had the opportunity to play in the first High Roller Bounty Shootout at NAPT Venetian in February and I have to say it's an incredibly exciting format. I am really looking forward to the chance to play again at NAPT Mohegan Sun – and reach the final this time! It's going to be a great event." said Team PokerStars.net Pro Daniel Negreanu.
Players will also hae the chance to enter the High Roller Bounty Shootout event through a special $5,250 Super-Satellite qualifying tournament set on Sunday, April 11th, and guaranteeing ten $25,600 entries as prizes in this Super-Satellite, with $51,200 (2 entries) added to the prize pool.
The North American Poker Tour Mohegan Sun will offer 37 poker events running for over 16 days. The tournament will feature the $5,000 buy-in Main Event as well as the $25,600 buy-in Bounty Shootout event, both of which will be recorded for future broadcast on ESPN2 and be hosted by poker player and model Joanna Krupa. The Main Event takes place April 7th – 11th and more than 600 players are expected to participate. Other events include a $300.00 "Ladies only" tournament, a $1,100 buy-in tournament with a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool, as well as other events featuring a wide range of buy-in levels.
Satellites for NAPT Mohegan Sun are running now on PokerStars for as little as $2.20 or 100 FPPS, giving players the chance to win a prize package that includes tournament buy-in, hotel accommodation and expenses. For more information, please visit PokerStars.com.
