Poker hall of famer Mike Sexton was recently named to FairPlayUSA's advisory board and will soon begin work to create a strict regulatory framework for online poker in the U.S.ÂÂ
ÂÂ
Sexton will join a diverse group of members at FairPlayUSA, such as internet safety expert Parry Aftab, former Secretary of Homeland Security and Governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Ridge and fellow poker pro Greg Raymer.
ÂÂ
"Americans should be able to play poker online in the privacy of their homes knowing that the games are safe and fair," said Sexton "FairPlayUSA is committed to ensuring a strict regulatory framework for online poker, and I am pleased to be part of its advisory board."
ÂÂ
Based in Washington D.C., FairPlayUSA's goal is to educate policy-makers and the public about online poker regulation in the U.S. This coalition provides strong law enforcement tools to ban what would be considered illegal gambling and protect the general public who have the right to play the game.
ÂÂ
"We're honored that Mike has agreed to join our Board of Advisors and help carry our message of the importance of bringing integrity and safety to online poker," said Executive Director of FairPlayUSA, Marisa McNee. "As FairPlayUSA grows as an organization, our message of strict regulation, child and consumer protection, and support of law enforcement will continue to resonate with key policymakers." ÂÂ

Mike Sexton is a member of the Poker Hall of Fame and has earned nearly $4 million in professional poker tournaments. Considered the "ambassador of poker", Sexton is the main host of the World Poker Tour, spokesman for Party Poker and a writer for various poker magazines.
