Playing Omaha

When I first made my
transition from playing no limit hold me to playing
1) Focus - You must remain focused on every hand while playing Omaha poker, a lot of
people get caught thinking they have the pot won when they really aren't
paying attention to the board. For example, you have Js-2h -Ad and 7c. The
flop comes 2d-2s and 10s.You have trips with the ace kicker and believe you
will have the best hand. You bet big and are called by one other player. Turn
is 9h and you bet big and are called. You still believe you can’t lose and are
betting on adrenaline of your big hand. River is a Qs. You have paid no
attention the board and bet big and are called and see the opponent caught the
spade flush on the river. You also did not realize there was a straight draw on
the board, and your lack of focus have caught you a significant if not all of
your chips.
3) Omaha H/L - is very interesting and conservative. You are unlikely to lose a mass amount of money in this game...You usually know if you are going to win the high or low pot. This game will test your patience and focus to see if you could buy your time for you to hit your big hand. If you lack patience and like quick games, Omaha High/Low probably isn't for you, but fun if you are patience. I would play these in play money for a while on Full Tilt or any other online poker room until you believe you have a solid understanding of the game.
I often find
