Online poker site Bugsy’s Club ceases operations and moves players to PokerStars.com
- 3-24-2009
Online poker site BugsysClub.com has joined the list of poker rooms shutting its operations due the complicated economic situation. The site, which was the online division of Poker School Online, posted a message on the site this morning explaining its players that due the difficult circumstances beyond control Bugsy's Club Poker Room will not continue its business operations. However, Bugsy's Club also informed its players that it had reached an agreement with PokerStars.com, to allow all Bugsy's Club players to transfer their account balances.
According to Bugsy’s Club, within the next few days, all players will receive e-mail messages from PokerStars informing them about how to activate their accounts; however, players who had accrued Bugsy’s Bonus Points will not be able to transfer their points to PokerStars.com. The message posted on the site also says that more information will be added as soon as it comes available.
“We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support of the Bugsy’s Club Poker Room. Since Bugsy’s Club was formed, our mission statement has always been that we will offer you ‘The Best Poker Games in Town’ and that ‘We will take care of you Personally.’ We are proud to say that these are goals we feel we have consistently exceeded, providing you with a great place to enjoy poker.†states the message on Bugsy’s Club’s site.
The situation affecting Bugsy’s Club’s operation is similar to the one reported by Fleet Street Games, a popular subscription-based online poker site that ceased its operations in October, 2008. The company founded by a former PokerStars executive cited the “chaotic economy†as the main reason for its abrupt departure. Since then, two other sites have suffered the same fate: Duplicate Poker and Zosoz, which ceased its operation after only two months on business.
