Obama rallies in Las Vegas while Nevada Unions endorsed the candidate.

Las Vegas InformationWednesday Senator Barack Obama gained the endorsements from several important unions, including the Culinary Workers Union in Nevada. The heads of Local 226, a union basically dominated by casino and hotel workers in the State of Nevada, most of them from Las Vegas, expressed that their decision to back Obama is based in his comprehension of the current economic situation of the U.S and his compromise with the working sector of the country. Obama, who will rally with Las Vegas workers next Friday, hopes that the endorsement will contribute with the mobilization of thousands of volunteers and voters.

"He was one of us. He was an organizer; he organized workers and families in the worst neighborhoods in Chicago. He has walked our picket line at the Congress Hotel in Chicago where we're in the fifth year of the strike." declared D. Taylor, secretary treasurer of the Union.

The other significant union recently announcing its support to the Democratic Candidate is the Unite Here, a union that represents industrial and textile workers and hotel and restaurant employees. The endorsements represent the first national union backing for Barak Obama and the culinary workers' endorsement gives Obama a considerable advantage over Hilary Clinton. The union is the largest and best organized in the whole state of Nevada and it represents the entire work force that keeps Las Vegas Hotels and Casinos in permanent operation. The union represents cooks, food servers, drivers, cleaning services, cocktail waiters, bartenders, guest room attendants and porters. The culinary union will organize its workers to start their own supporting campaign from now and until the caucuses are over.
