North American Poker Tour: Mohegan Sun Day 3

Day 3 of PokerStars.net North American Poker Tour Mohegan Sun Main Event kicked off yesterday afternoon with a field of 125 players battling for the title and $750.000 first prize. Poker pro Vanessa Selbst dominated Day 3, finishing in 1st position in the chip count. Selbst, who began the day third in chips, ended Day 3 as the chip leader with 2.285 million. The skillful pro is closely followed by Scott Seiver, who finished Day 3 with a little more than 2.24 million after entering the the day with only 40,400.
The action began yesterday at 12:00 pm local time with 125 players. Players needed to finish in 104th place or better to get a share of the prize pool. The money bubble burst when Nicholas Kamen called a pre-flop all-in bet with A-K and his opponent called with pocket eights.
Once the field entered the money, players felt more relaxed and the action continued at a rapid pace. By 7:30 p.m., only 33 players were alive. Day 3 closed at 11 p.m. when William Priest was sent home in 25th place. Some of the pros eliminated on Day 3 include Phil Ivey, James Akenhead, Alex Keating, Ryan D’Angelo, David Williams, Sorel Mizzi, Jeff Madsen, and Team PokerStars Pros Dennis Phillips and Marcello Del Grosso.
The remaining 24 players will return to the Mohegan Sun at 12:00 pm to define who will get a spot in the final table. NAPT Mohegan Sun Main Event Final table action will kick off Sunday at noon.
