The color green is invading Las Vegas, not only because of the thousands of millions of dollars the city generates, but also thanks to a new “environmentally friendly” mentality that has invaded SinCity. This ecological effort is not exclusive to the famous Las Vegas hotels and other urban and housing projects, several other institutions, establishments and businesses are also implementing “green” and “ecological” solutions as a way to reduce energy consumption and pollution in the gambling capital of the world.

Only a few days ago, the World Series of Poker organization announced that a new  “green” tournament poker table created by the New Jersey-based manufacturer, EGM Green, will be presented during the 2008 edition of the WSOP. The “Green” table is made using sustainable materials, including wood certified by the Forestry Stewardship Council, formaldehyde free paints and stains and water based adhesives. EGM Green is convinced that the use of sustainable designs in the creation of poker tables and casino products can considerably decrease the amounts of industrial waste produced by m
anufacturers, reduce the dependency of natural resources and diminish the environmental impact.

“We are pleased that Harrah’s has chosen to debut the table at the WSOP. Casinos are taking up the mantle of sustainability and leading the charge is Harrah’s Entertainment, Inc. EGM Green is positioned to help drive sustainable change by offering green products developed for casinos.” said EGM Green President Eric Hansel.

The Green table will be exhibited at the 2008 WSOP in the Rio All Suites Hotel and Casino, EGM Green and Harrah’s representatives will talk about their efforts introduce environmentally friendly products in ecologically conscious casinos all over the U.S  with out sacrificing the quality of the final product. EGM Green also features dealer accessories, 15 standard wood finishes, custom finishes and a series of other eco-friendly casino and poker supplies. The ESOP officials and EGM Green representatives also announced that the World Series of Poker winner will take home a “Green” table courtesy of EGM Green.
