Nevada State Athletic Commission sets UFC 106 event on November at the Mandalay Bay

According to recent reports, officials of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and the Nevada State Athletic Commission have informed that the UFC 106 event has been set to take place on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. Rumors also indicate that potential headliners for the UFC 106 could include the winners of UFC 100 matchups between heavyweights Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir and welterweights Georges St-Pierre and Thiago Alves as well as Vitor Belfort’s UFC return in a high voltage match versus the Brazilian fighter and middleweight champ Anderson Silva.
The UFC is also planning to hold The Ultimate Fighter 10 Heavyweights Finale on December 5th, at The Pearl Theater at The Palms Resort and Casino, which could provide accommodation to 1,800 fans. It’s also rumored that this event will possibly feature Kimbo Slice’s official UFC debut.
The two confirmed events bring the remaining UFC 2009 schedule to 10 events, four events in Las Vegas, one event in Manchester, England, and five events in different locations around the U.S, including Portland, L.A, Dallas, Oklahoma and Philadelphia.
