Nevada Brothel Hires First Legal Male Prostitute in the U.S.

The Shady Lady Ranch, located near Beatty, NV between Las Vegas and Reno, has just hired the first legal male prostitute in the U.S. The former U.S. Marine, known only as Markus, sees himself as a civil rights crusader, much like Rosa Parks was in the 50's.

The Nye County, Nevada Liquor and Licensing Board finally gave permission for the "prostidude" to legally work as a gigolo in the Shady Lady Ranch. Now the 25-year old college dropout, who worked for a short time in the porn industry has become only legal male prostitute in the nation. His first week on the job was reportedly slow, but he will have his first clients visit him this weekend.

With Markus' new job comes much criticism, as he is outright with the fact that he will only accept female customers. In an interview with Details Magazine, Markus said that he is "just the same" as civil rights crusader Rosa Parks refusing to give up her seat and sit in the back of the bus in the 1950's.

"I'm an equal opportunity employer. I don't discriminate based on race, color, creed, ethnicity, or skin tone." said Markus. "Notice I left gender out. That's for a reason."

The Shady Lady is more than 30 miles north of Beatty, NV. in a town of less than 1,200 people between Las Vegas and Reno. The pricing ranges from $200 for 40 minutes, up to $300 per hour.

Prostitution is illegal in nearly all of the U.S. including nearby Vegas, but it is legal in certain western areas of the state of Nevada.
