N9NE Group and Palms Resort and Casino team up for Earth Day Weekend

Las Vegas nightclub and restaurant operator, N9NE Group and the Palms Resort and Casino are joining forces on next Earth Day weekend to provide travelers and locals with a series of green-conscious events scheduled to take place from Friday, April 17th to Sunday, April 19th. The events will kick of at 11:00 am on Friday when N9NE Group and the RTC introduce the first sustainable eco bus operating on used vegetable oil provided by N9NE Steakhouse, inside the Palms Casino Resort.

The acts will continue at noon with the presentation of the first solar powered DJ booth at Palms Pool & Bungalows. The DJ booth, developed by Sustainable Waves, uses solar panels to generate power and inverters to convert the sun’s energy into 110 volts. Palms Pool sponsor Miller Lite is also a sponsor of the solar-powered DJ booth. Miller’s banners for the DJ booth are printed on BIOflex, a new biodegradable vinyl that progressively degrades into sodium (salt) dust. At 7 p.m. CineVegas will present the film, Gashole at Brenden Theatres. All profit from the film screening will benefit Conservation International. Right after the movie, the Rain Nightclub will offer a green Friday after-party, featuring DJ 5IVE.

The events will resume on Saturday, April 18th with a special display organized by Sustainable Waves in where visitors will have the chance to learn more about bioreactors and green house gas-eating algae generators. At 7 p.m. CineVegas will present the film Food Inc. A panel of Las Vegas chefs including Chef Peter Shurlock from Wolfgang Puck at the Las Vegas Springs Preserve will lead a post-film discussion. The celebration will come to an end on Sunday, April 19th with two events, which include the presentation of the film Everything’s cool at 7:00 pm, and a closing party at 10:30 pm held inside Moon Nightclub featuring world famous DJ Felix Da Housecat. A portion of the proceeds from the party and the film will benefit Conservation International, an organization that preserves global biodiversity.
