MySpace partners with World Poker Tour to launch dedicated social network for poker enthusiasts

MySpace, the biggest social network on the net and World Poker Tour (WPT) have recently teamed up to develop the first integrated poker destination with games and content for MySpace members. The MySpace WPT community delivers a unique poker experience for hardcore poker fans and casual players alike, the site’s content includes tips and tricks, player profiles, video footage, tournament news, and videos from the World Poker Tour and new ClubWPT.com TV series. The community provides a place for poker fans to meet and interact with their favorite poker players and get access to the latest news and information. The MySpace WPT club will also feature a free multi-player poker game created by MySpace's online game partner, Oberon Entertainment. The game will give MySpace members the chance to compete against other members in real time and test their skills in live or private tournaments. For $19.95 per month, members will also have the opportunity to join WPT's original subscription site ClubWPT.com and play for more than $100,000 in cash and prizes each month, including seats at World Poker Tour events all over the world and at the ClubWPT.com TV series.

Poker fans will also see the MySpace WPT community get in the action during WPT Season VII television broadcasts, featured on the final table ring where the remaining six players battle it out for millions of dollars and a WPT title. Making its debut on Fox Sports Net later this year, the World Poker Tour TV show introduces the audience to the best moments of the WPT season in where hundreds of players battle for millions of dollars in prizes and the satisfaction of winning a WPT title.
