"Monty Python's Spamalot" at Wynn Las Vegas is ready to close next Sunday

Ending a 15-month run, "Monty Python's Spamalot" at Wynn Las Vegas is ready to close next Sunday. Producers have announced the July 13th close date on Tuesday, they had previously pronounced about the plan to substitute the Tony-winning Las Vegas musical with a new production featuring the impressionist and comedian Danny Gans.

"Spamalot" opened in Las Vegas in late March 2007 and have played 509 performances upon closing. “Monty Python’s Spamalot” tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and their quest for the Holy Grail, the musical show features songs, dancing divas, knights in tights, spirited Frenchmen and a happy ending.  

Featuring a book and lyrics by Eric Idle, music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle and direction by Mike Nichols, Spamalot is based on the motion picture Monty Python and the Holy Grail and tells the legendary tale of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table and their quest for the Holy Grail. Featuring a book and lyrics by Eric Idle, music by John Du Prez and Eric Idle, direction by Mike Nichols, and choreography by Casey Nicholaw, SPAMALOT is based on a screenplay by Monty Python creators Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin. The show is based upon the motion picture, “Monty Python and the Holy Grai”l, and stars John O’Hurley as King Arthur and Erica Ash plays The Lady of the Lake. The cast also includes Harry Bouvy, Aaron De Jesus, James Ludwig, Randal Keith, Mika Duncan and Josh Grisetti.

Spamalot has been honored with numerous awards, including the Grammy Award for Best Original Cast Recording and three Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The musical continues to play on Broadway, on a national tour and in London's West End. Tickets for Monty Python Spamalot are now available for the final performances.
