Mix at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino could be considered as one of the higher class restaurants in the
Eating at Mix is a culinary delight more than just catching a quick meal. The cuisine is mostly a combination of French and American styles, Mix main chef Alain Ducasse is an acclaimed chef and an expert in the field of culinary arts, also owns award winner restaurants in Tokyo, Paris and Monaco and counts with a series of awards and achievements during his career. Mix also features Chef Bruno Davaillon, another expert in French cuisine and a professional “saucierâ€Â. The restaurant’s delightful menu includes great entrees such as the Lobster Salad with avocado or the tomato confit and caviar cream and incredible and delicate culinary creations such as the Fricassee of Guinea Hen with preserved citrus and couscous.
Mix’s ambiance is very elegant and high-class; also the dinning room is neatly decorated, creating a formal environment which is mixes perfectly with the high class atmosphere at the Mandalay Bay. Keep in mind that Mix is a sit down and stay awhile restaurant and that you will probably spend more time waiting for your dinner than in a usual restaurant. The one star Michellin guide rated restaurant has won its fair share of awards which has impressed me. Mix was named “Best Restaurant†by the Travel Leisure Design Awards 2006. This award was given to Mix thanks to the neat interior design and sophisticated décor created by the famous designer, Patrick Jouin. Even though the Mix is one of the best restaurants, the average family of four probably wouldn’t be going because of the pricing. The average bill per person is about one-hundred dollars so Mix might be a place you might only visit once.
