Minecraft Convention, MineCon 2011 Las Vegas, Sells Out in Record Time

With over 3 weeks remaining until the start of the official Minecraft convention, Minecon 2011 at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas, tickets for this event are already sold out.

Minecraft was originally released in 2009 and now more than 2 years later, Mojang will release a full version of the game to coincide with MineCon 2011 in Las Vegas. Despite being technically in development, the indie Minecraft game claims over 13 million registered players.

The gameplay of Minecraft is focused mainly on creativity and building, giving players to opportunity to use 3D cubes to construct landscapes at will. No
actual goals are set in Mincraft, meaning that at the moment the game cannot be won.

During the MineCon 2011 dates, Mandalay Bay and Luxor hotels are offering promotional rates for convention attendees. Luxor Las Vegas has rates from $39 on weeknights and $79 on weekends, depending on the type of room. These rates will be available until November 1st.
