MGM introduces innovative advances at the CityCenter hotels

Las Vegas hotel operator, MGM Mirage Inc. has announced that three of its hotels at the City Center project currently under development, will include a series of technological advances that will let visitors customize their room environment as well as energy efficient technology that will save the company millions of dollars and that will set a precedent for future projects in Las Vegas.

MGM, operator and owner of several Las Vegas Hotels and casinos, has said that guests visiting the $9.1 billion residential and commercial complex expected to open in 2009, will have the chance to customize certain settings including the lights, TV (stations, shows, movies, etc), music and curtains, and save them for future visits or simply use them during the time they’re in. In addition, the room “recognizes” each customer and makes the necessary adjustments every time the guest enters or leaves the room.

MGM Mirage Chief Design and Construction Officer Bobby Baldwin have said to the media that this stylish and sophisticated technology will be incorporated in three of the CityCenter proprieties, Aria hotel and casino, and the non-gambling hotels Mandarin Oriental and the Harmon Hotel, Spa and Residences. MGM is also implementing new environmentally friendly technology such as intelligent lights, A/C sensors and more efficient appliances that will reduce the power consumption by about 9%. The MGM will also implement some of these features in several condominiums at the Las Vegas project and at the 500,000 square-foot retail and entertainment center located inside the complex.
