DWTS alum and Entertainment Tonight correspondent Melissa Rycroft-Strickland and husband Tye Strickland headed for Sin City to celebrate Tye’s 29th birthday at the luxurious Palazzo Resort Hotel Casino.
Upon arrival the newlyweds were whisked up to their sienna suite where there was a special surprise welcome basket in their room for Tye. “We love the Palazzo and The Venetian!†states Melissa. The couple had their Bachelor and Bachelorette parties on the properties just weeks before they got married in December.
Melissa and Tye headed to TAO Asian Bistro, Tye’s favorite restaurant, for dinner where they sampled a special chefs menu of TAO favorites.  Tye requested the Chilean Sea Bass, which he loves. The two couples then partied late into the night at TAO Nightclub with friends and the DJ gave Tye a special “Happy Birthday†shout out.
The lovebirds spent Saturday morning at Canyon Ranch SpaClub where they enjoyed a couples massage. “It was the best massage I ever had†stated Melissa, “It was amazingâ€Â. The perfect way to rejuvenate after a night of dancing! Melissa and Tye met their friends at Palazzo’s AZURE Pool where they enjoyed some sun and relaxed in their private cabana. Tye, a huge fan of Phantom of the Opera after seeing the show on his Bachelor weekend was overwhelmed with joy when staff brought out a Phantom of the Opera Buttercream Birthday Cake!
After a few hours downtime Melissa and Tye headed to FIRST for some evening warm-up cocktails and then attended Joan Rivers’ standup comedy show in The Venetian Showroom. Following the show they headed backstage to meet Joan. After laughing hysterically for more than an hour the group headed to Wolfgang Puck’s CUT for some delicious cuisine. Laughing out load can really wet your appetite!
