Man Shoots Two Federal Agents inside Las Vegas Courthouse
This morning at least two federal agents were shot and wounded inside a Downtown Las Vegas courthouse when a shotgun-toting man opened fire, according to authorities. The two men were identified as a deputy U.S. marshal and a court security officer - their conditions have not been released as of yet.
Although details of the incident are not very clear at the moment, reports state that the unknown shooter entered the Las Vegas courthouse and began shooting, thus wounding the two men.
FBI Special Agent Joseph Dickey stated that police and federal agents swarmed a Downtown Vegas building, where the gunman was hiding, and killed him.
This large Las Vegas building, which contains the offices of Nevada Senators Harry Reid and John Ensign, was quickly evacuated in the event that a second shooter may have been on the loose.
The gunman's motive is not known yet as Las Vegas police spokeswoman Barbara Morgan said, "It looks like he went in there and just started unloading, we don't know."
The courthouse, which is located on the Las Vegas Boulevard is used for bankruptcy hearings as well as federal cases and was one of the first to be designed with special security standards after the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995.
