To celebrate Independence Day and the opening of Club Tattoo at the Miracle Mile, a shop he co-owns with LinkinPark’s front man Chester Bennington, the world famous Las Vegas magician Steve Wyrick will attempt an act never performed by any other magician, escape artist or illusionist in the world.

The escape act dubbed as “Death Drop” will take place at 8:30 p.m in front of the Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Right before the act, Pennington will chain Wyrick and lock him in an equipment locker used to store LinkinPark’s equipment. The box will be lifted with a crane and suspended over a bed of 500 flaming spikes located about 80 feet below. The ropes will be set on fire, forcing Wyrick to perform his escape before the rope breaks. But even if he unties on time, he'll have to jump 20 feet off the burning box to a safety rope and rappel down and avoid the flaming spikes and the blazing heat. A section of the Las Vegas Strip will be closed to traffic on July 4th when magician Steve Wyrick performs his escape.

The same day, Wyrick will join Pennington in an autograph signing at the Miracle Mile Shops' Club Tattoo. Members of Pennington's new band, Dead by Sunrise, will also take part I the evening event. Free tickets will be available at the signing for a concert scheduled to take place at 10:30 pm at the Wyrick Theater. Spectators attending Wyrick's performance will receive a free MolliCoolz Shaker.
