M Resort signs deal for an innovative outdoor advertising campaign in Las Vegas

M Resort, Spa and Casino, the all-new $1 billion Las Vegas hotel and resort to be completed in the Spring of 2009 on South Las Vegas Boulevard, has signed an exclusive agreement with The Lightship Group, the largest airship operator in the world, to bring a flying electronic lightship to Las Vegas, which by the way, is one of only three of this ships currently in existence, for what is going to be the first massive outdoor campaign in Sin City.

 

The lightship is part of a massive outdoor advertising campaign that uses visual stimulation to increase the general attention and consequently to enhance sales. The contract signed by M Resort will let them use a twin-engine A-170LS video lightship, which is essentially a large electronic lightsign mounted on a zeppelin. The screen uses a series of special LEDs (light emitting diodes) to project images on the world's largest (70 ft x 30 ft) aerial screen. This screen is capable to broadcast from live television and streaming video, to web sites, online information, static images and offers all in high quality.

 

The light ship will start flying above the Las Vegas valley in September, The M Lightship and its 2,100 square foot advertising screen will be noticeable from several hundred yards and it is aimed to thousands of residents and 40 million tourists visiting Las Vegas every year.

The M Lightship is expected to become a part of the new Las Vegas resort and will provide an innovative and compelling vehicle to advertise the resort. The M Lightship's interactive features will not only provide a new notion of marketing in Las Vegas, the idea is also to provide a new form of entertainment as it is viewed throughout the city.
