Longtime comedian Dana Carvey to perform three shows at Orleans Showroom

winning comedian Dana Carvey will return to
Since his debut in SNL in
1986, Carvey, along with Phil Hartman, Victoria Jackson, Jan Hooks, and Kevin
Nealon, transformed the show into one of the best ranked shows on TV. Carvey contributed
with the creation of new characters and sketches, including the Church Lady; Hans
and Franz bodybuilding duo;
After leaving SNL in 1992,
Carvey continued working on TV, hosting the MTV Music Awards in 1992, and
starring the Showtime special “Salute to Improvisation†with Billy Crystal,
Robin Williams and Robert Klein. In 1995, Dana performed stand up in his own
one-hour comedy special on HBO aptly named “Critics Choiceâ€Â. In 1996 he
launched “The Dana Carvey Showâ€Â, best known for its controvertial “The Ambiguously Gay Duo†animated section, unfortunately, the show was canceled after a short time on the air. Recently, Carvey finished filming his new stand up show called
“Squatting Monkeys Tell No Liesâ€Â, which will be transmitted on HBO.
Carvey has received several honors and awards for his performances,
including one Emmy for “Outstanding Individual Performance in a Variety of
Music Program†as well as an honorary mention by Comedy Central as #60 on the
Top 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of all time.
