Little Church of the West

The Little Church of the West is a mini replica of an old west
mining town church, it stands as a reminder of the early days of
This rustic cedar and redwood built landmark has stood the test of time and moved numerous times since its original location as part of the Last Frontier Hotel in 1942. It then moved in 1954 on the same piece of Frontier property. In 1979 it relocated to make way for what is the Fashion Show Mall today and then the chapel was then moved again onto the grounds of the old Hacienda Hotel. When the Hacienda in 1996 was imploded to make way for the now Mandalay Bay Hotel, the Little Church of the West made the last move across the street to what is its current location.
In 2002, the Little
Church of the West celebrated its 60th anniversary and remains
the oldest existing structure on the Las Vegas Strip and is in the National
Register of Historic Places. The structure  looks much the same today as when it was first
built, if only the walls of this chapel could talk with the thousands of
weddings vows that have taken place in such a humble setting.
