Las Vegas Vintage Shows still an important attraction.

Las Vegas Discount CouponsLas Vegas shows producers Sandy Hackett and Dick Feeney have planned a revolutionary way to keep the classic Las Vegas shows alive. The creators of “Viva Las Vegas” and “The Rat Pack is Back”, two of the vintage shows that evoke the golden days of SinCity, accomplished to create some of the most famous Las Vegas tribute shows by combining the elements such as impersonation, dancing, singing and comedy. “Viva Las Vegas!” was first launched in 1991 in the Las Vegas Sands Hotel and then moved to the famous Stratosphere Hotel in 1996, in where it ran for over a decade. The show reopened at the Plaza Hotel and Casino in October, 2007 with the addition of famous comedian Bruce “Big John” Mickelson. But when “Viva Las Vegas!” proved to be a total hit the duo decided to open “The Rat Pack Is Back” at the Greek Isles Hotel and Casino.

“The Rat Pack is Back” had a series of different names since its debut in 2003. The show was originally named “The Tribute to Frank, Sammy, Joey and Dean” but after a while it was launched again under the name of “The Rat Pack Is Back,” at the Rio Hotel and Casino. The show counts with cast that rotates depending on the performers starring the show. The most recent cast features Sandy Hackett as Joey Bishop, Johnny Edwards as Dean Martin, Brian Duprey as Frank Sinatra and Kyle Diamond as Sammy Davis Jr.

Dick Feeney is emphatic about the potential of opening more shows at the Plaza Hotel and Casino “We’ll think about that after we get everything smoothed out with these two shows,” Feeney said. To spice up the Plaza’s environment, the duo has also booked bands to entertain the Aqua Lounge Casino visitors.

“I remember this gorgeous lounge they had there when I first arrived in town 20-something years ago. It had a real nice stage, but somewhere along the line it was boarded up and they made a keno room out of it, but they never took out the stage.” Feeney said.

Feeney expressed that when they found the stage was still there they immediately upgraded the room to adequate it for live performances. Feeney also said that soon the place will start having 4 shows a week.

“Bands are struggling in lounges in this town. We want to give them a place to play.” Feeney said.
