Las Vegas Sportsbooks Have Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock as Early Oscar Favorites

Jeff Bridges and Sandra Bullock are the early favorites to win an Oscar in their respective acting categories, according to oddsmakers at Las Vegas casinos. As far as the best picture category, "Avatar" leads the pack as a 1-2 favorite (risking $2 to win $1).
Executive director of the race and sports book at Wynn Las Vegas, John Avello has Jeff Bridges as a 2-3 favorite to win a best actor Oscar for his role in "Crazy Heart". While Sandra Bullock is the favorite for best actress for her portrayal of a wealthy woman who takes in a homeless teen, who then went on to become an NFL superstar in "The Blind Side". Avello has Bullock at even-money in this category.
"I was blindsided by 'Blind Side,' and I'm up in the air about the others," he said.
