Las Vegas announces 'Takin' It to the Streets' special New Year's Eve firework display and live show

Officials from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) and Las Vegas Events met with the city representatives and Fireworks by Grucci at the Fashion Show Mall to reveal the details for America's Party: Las Vegas New Year 2009, an amazing citywide festivity planned for New Years Eve.

The celebration will feature an amazing firework display on the Las Vegas Strip as well as a series of live performances and fireworks under the canopy at the Fremont Street Experience. The "TributePalooza" will feature several tribute bands performing classic rock songs by Billy Joel, Eagles, David Bowie, KISS, Rolling Stones, U2, Queen and Aerosmith. World renowned Fireworks by Grucci of New York will be in charge of the New Years pyrotechnic creations. The firm has executed numerous inaugurations and special celebrations including the Grand Opening of the Atlantis Hotel and The Palm Jumeirah in Dubai as well as several events in Las Vegas such as the official the city's centennial anniversary celebration.

More than 30,000 pyrotechnics will be fired from the eight locations during the 8 minute, 10 second display, he fireworks launching locations include the Mandalay Bay Convention Center Lot, Las Vegas Luxor Parking Lot, MGM Grand Parking Garage, Caesars Palace Parking Garage, Treasure Island Valet Parking Garage, Las Vegas Convention Center Gold Parking Lot, Stratosphere Parking Garage, and Fremont Street Experience.

"It gets no better than New Year's in Las Vegas. From the amazing fireworks that blast off along the world famous Las Vegas Strip to the great bands and the atmosphere under the canopy at the Fremont Street Experience downtown, Las Vegas is the place to ring in 2009." said Mayor Oscar B. Goodman, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority.

This show will have a different look, and the best viewing areas will now be ground level on the Las Vegas Strip.
