Ladbrokes Poker joins Microgaming Poker Network

  • 8-8-2008

Only a few hours ago, UK based Ladbrokes Poker announced a that it will leave the standalone philosophy to join the Microgaming Poker Network, one of the biggest and most solid online poker networks in the world. Ladbrokes Poker already licenses Microgaming poker software; however, the integration into the Microgaming Poker Network won’t be happening until next year.

"Joining the Microgaming network will give our players more action on a wider variety of games, particularly at higher staking levels. Microgaming is a leading network and will offer Ladbrokes Poker players faster access to the games they want. We will continue to operate outside of the network on tables where we already offer players the level of action they demand. "Most of the poker rake is generated by the high stakes players and we have taken the decision to offer them US liquidity from those individual states where there is less of a legal risk" said John O'Reilly, Ladbrokes Managing Director.

O'Reilly said that LadbrokesPoker.com has examined the risks and evaluated every aspect of the situation and are comfortable with the decision of joining the network. According to him, the benefits for Ladbrokes high stakes players and higher competition will increase the incursion of new players.

With the incursion into the Microgaming Poker Network, LadbrokesPoker will be part of a list of over 40 poker rooms sharing the network’s player base. The company also said that it will keep providing its customers with the usual poker events, exclusive poker tournaments and promotions including the Ladbrokes Poker Million, World Series of Poker packages, the Ladbrokes Poker European Ladies Championship, Ladbrokes European Online Championship of Poker, Ladbrokes Poker Cruise and Ladbrokes Irish Poker Festival.
