LA Poker Classic 2008 Event #1

The LA Poker Classic is celebrating its sixth edition with a series of events that will last for over one month and offers all different kinds of games and buy-ins. As usual, the tournament will end with a Main Event which is always attracting a large selection of well known poker pros. As a part of the World Poker Tour this event comprise 29 events with the ending $10.000 Main Event.. The Main Event features a $10.000 buy in and will kick off on February 23rd. Besides the Main Event there’s also a lot of satellites for players with a smaller bankrolls and for those who prefer to play in different tournaments with lower buy-ins. Here are the results from Event #1 and #2.
Event #1 - No-Limit Hold'em Freeze-out -
Buy-in: $300
The first event of the LA Poker Classic started with a record of 1.191 poker players, fighting for the $346.581 price pool. 99 players got in the money and the winner received a check over $77.631. U.S player Kimya Williams won the $300 buy-in event after tow days of intense poker action. He won his Heads-Up match against his fellow Jun Zhou. It was William’s first career victory and increased his overall winnings to $88.186.  The results for the final table are the following:

Event #2 - No-Limit Hold'em Freeze-out - Buy-in: $300
387 players signed for the $300 buy in No Limit Hold’em Freeze-Out. L.A resident Frank Mariani didn’t complete his mission of winning his third title; at the end Mariani and ended up losing against Bob Pacle, who won the Heads-Up and received $30.408. Here are the results of Event #2:
