Historic Lady Luck Hotel & Casino Renamed the Downtown Grand

Earlier today, the owners of the Lady Luck announced the new name of the hotel and removed the sign that has been hanging on the building for years. The Hotel was renamed to the Downtown Grand and is scheduled to reopen in 2012.

Originally opened in 1964, Lady Luck Hotel & Casino is currently owned by CIM Group and has been closed since 2006. Set on over 6 acres, the development consists of two towers and connected by a ground-level casino.

In late 2010, a $100 million renovation was announced and now the reopen date has been postponed until the opening of the new Las Vegas City Hall, Smith Center for the Performing Arts and the downtown Mob Museum.

CIM Group had purchased the property in 2007 for $20 million and required to have the renovations complete by September 30, 2013.
