PokerGives.org and High Society Spirits have recently informed that its first annual Shuffle Up for Poker Gives charity tournament hosted by "The Ambassador of Poker" Mike Sexton, will take place at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas on Thursday, June 4th, one day before the highly anticipated Women in Poker Hall of Fame (WiPHoF) induction ceremony.
The event is presented by High Society Spirits and sponsored by Rockwell Time, and will raise funds for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Paralyzed Veterans of America, and Special Olympics. The winner of this event will get an entry to the 2010 World Poker Tour Celebrity Invitational event, a Rockwell exclusive watch, and a cash prize. The top ten finishers will also receive a portion of the prize pool plus additional gifts, in addition, all players registered for this event will receive a commemorative gift.
The buy-in for the no-limit Texas Hold'em charity poker tournament is $200 + $30, the event will feature $50 re-buys during the first three levels as well as a one-time $50 add-on. Registration for the Shuffle Up for Poker Gives charity tournament closes the day of the event.
"I'm honored to join Mike Sexton, Linda Johnson, and Jan Fisher in launching Poker Gives. Now, millions of poker players will have the opportunity to show how much they care." staid Poker Gives co-founder Lisa Tenner.
Besides the poker tournament, PokerGives and High Society Spirits will also present a silent auction hosted by The Autograph Guys and scheduled to kick off at 5:00 pm inside the Golden Nugget's Grand Ballroom.ÂÂ
Online poker site FullTilt.com and 2009 WiPHoF inductee Cyndy Violette will also host a $5 + $5 Poker Gives online event on Sunday, May 17th at 3:00 pm EDT. More information on this special online fundraising tourney can be found at FullTiltPoker.com.
