Harrah's Entertainment, Inc announced that the 2008 World Series of Poker Europe will be taking place from September 19th to October 1st in London, England. The second edition of the tournament will be hosted by London Clubs International and held at the St. James (Fifty), Leicester Square (The Casino at the Empire) and Marble Arch (Sportsman). The schedule for the 2008 WSOPE still under development and will be released as soon as all the organization fixes all the details.

"It was a clean sweep for the Europeans last year. There are many, many talented players in the European poker community and I think it caught some of the world's best known poker players by surprise. It's safe to say the pros haven't forgotten about last year and the young guns should expect a tougher fight in 2008." said World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack.

World Series Of Poker Europe is the counterpart of the World Series Of Poker tournament in Las Vegas. The first event of the WSOPE 2007 included players such as Annette Obrestad, Doyle Brunson, Phil Hellmuth and Johnny Chan, but they were all defeated by the Norwegian superstar who took home more than $2 million.

"We look forward to again serving as hosts for this prestigious event. A first class tournament at our first class properties promises to bring out the best poker players in the world." said Michael Silberling, COO, London Clubs International.
