Getting disconnected from an online poker site
- 5-27-2008
Perhaps the most
annoying element of online poker is the disconnection of players.ÂÂ
Disconnections are annoying, bad for the flow of play, and overall a major
distraction. On FullTilt.com, disconnections occur every second.ÂÂ
Full
Tilt Poker is not responsible for your connection to their
software, in fact, it is stated in the terms and conditions that FTP is
not reliable for any money lost during disconnection. Same as in many other poker sites, so in order to avoid possible headaches and other problems, always read carefully the terms and conditions.
On Full Tilt, disconnections are given time in order to try to return to the
game without being blinded out. Usually, when one disconnects, they are
given a ninety second time period where the action is frozen from any play occurring
what so ever. Once the disconnection time is up, play continues, and the
disconnected player is officially sitting out. Therefore, in a sit-n-go,
your blinds will be posted and your player will be a sitting duck.
The most annoying disconnection is one during a time of intense action.ÂÂ
Nothing is worse than having to deal with a crucial decision, when all of a sudden;
play is hauled to cope with one player in the hand being disconnected.
On disconnection breaks, many players run off to do something else. For
example, bathroom breaks. You get over a minute. Just forget the soap and water
ordeal and snap, all is good.ÂÂ
Best time to disconnect: Never
Worst time to disconnect: Heads Up Sit-N-Go's.
