Garth Brooks sell out second series of performances at Encore Las Vegas

Officials of Wynn Las Vegas have announced that tickets for Garth Brooks' second series of concerts at Encore Theater were sold out only a few hours after their release last Saturday morning.

According to Wynn Resorts, the company answered more than 75,000 phone calls and received more than 2 million pages views on its Web site from Brooks'fans desperate to get tickets for his next 20 shows. Wynn Las Vegas implemented a series of booking procedures and security messeures to prevent any form of ticket scalping. The measure includes collecting the full name of of each person attending the concert and limiting sales tickets to a maximum of 4 tickets per order, person or per credit card. In addition, tickets sold online or thought phone could be picked up only on the day of the show, with photo IDs , confirmation number and actual credit card used for payment.

Garth Brooks ended a nine-year retirement from live performances to begin a five year engagement at the Wynn Las Vegas. The first series of shows--Dec. 11-13, Jan. 1-3 and 22-24, Feb. 12-14 and 26-28--went on sale in October and sold out within five hours. After two shows on Feb. 26-28, followed by the weekends of March 26-28 and April 9-11, Brooks will return to Steve Wynn's Encore Theater June 25-27, July 16-18 and Aug. 6-8. Additional concert dates will be released in the next months. Fans also stand a chance to obtain tickets for sold out concerts as tickets confiscated from unauthorized sellers will be sold to the stand-by line at the Wynn Box Office.
